Worship Service Guidelines - COVID-19

DETAILS ABOUT COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS AS STOCKHOLM BEGINS IN-PERSON WORSHIP THIS COMING SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 6, 2020

GREETINGS MEMBERS OF THE STOCKHOLM LUTHERAN FAMILY!

We are very glad to begin worshipping together, in-person, at Stockholm this Sunday!  It has been a long time, and we all miss being together, and being able to worship our God and Savior Jesus inside our familiar and beautiful worship space!

However, we are living in this time when the COVID 19 pandemic is still very much alive and dangerous (over 1100 new cases in one day 3 days ago).  So, even if you believe you are not sick or vulnerable, we want to have our worship be safe for all.  Therefore, your Church Council has directed us to follow the guidelines and expectations given to us by the scientists, physicians and other experts of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) who have the most information, and who know more than anyone else, what is happening with this disease.

We are very excited to see our brothers and sisters in worship!  However, we are so concerned about the health of everyone, so if you have any kind of medical condition, or weakened immune system, we ask that you consider worshipping with us from home on the Stockholm website, or in your car in the parking lot.

If you would like the worship bulletin sent to you by email, please notify us ASAP and we will attempt to do that by Sunday.  Worship will begin at 10:30 am (the doors will open at 10:15 am).

RESTRICTIONS WE WILL FOLLOW DURING WORSHIP, STARTING SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 6:

  1. We will wear masks over our mouth and nose during the whole worship service.  We will have masks available for those who do not have one.

  2. We will observe physical distancing of six feet between people or family groups,

  3. You will be ushered and shown where to sit, and then also ushered out.  We are asking that people          please agree with this, and not be concerned about whether you sit in your “normal place” or not.

  4. The organ / piano will hymns, and we will have words printed out, but we will not be singing.

  5. An offering plate will be available as we leave worship, for your gifts for the gospel / work of the Lord.

  6. As you are leaving worship, we ask that you please exit the building before you take off masks or stop to talk to others.

** NOTE:  We are doing all of this only to minimize the risk of anyone (young and strong, or older and more vulnerable) getting sick.   If anyone cannot, for any reason, follow these precautions to care for each other’s health, we are very hopeful you will still join us for worship, either in the parking lot or on the Stockholm Lutheran website!

In Jesus’ Peace,

Stockholm Lutheran Church Council and Pastor Mark
